How fat are you?

Have you ever calculated how fat you are?. If you would like to calculate, keep reading.

People often go by how someone appears to confirm whether the other person is fat, average or slim. Some would suggest to keep an eye on weight however weight is not the true indicator of fatness.

“Body fat percentage’ is the key indicator that will give you a detailed understanding of how fat you are. If you are planning to undergo a fat loss program, you should start by calculating ‘Body Fat percentage. So the next question would be how to calculate body fat percentage?

Step 1 : Buy a body fat calliper also known as the Skin fold calliper
You will find these in amazon, flipkart and other stores for just $4 - $12.

Step 2 : Take 3 readings
Once you have the Body fat calliper, It’s time to take 3 readings of your body fat. Men usually take reading of chest, abdomen and thigh whereas women usually take reading of triceps, abdomen and thigh area. How to do it? It is very simple, just pinch the skin in the area with a calliper and you will see the reading on calliper.

Men :  Chest  + Abdomen + Thigh

Women: Triceps + Abdomen  Thigh

Step 3 : Calculate average of the 3 readings

For example : A 30 year old Man used body fat calliper. He calculated his Chest fat percentage as 22 mm, Abdominal fat percentage as 20 mm and Thigh fat percentage as 18 mm

Then his Body Fat percentage will be = 22mm + 20mm + 18 mm / 3 = 20 mm

Thus his body fat percentage will be 20%

Similarly women can take readings of Triceps, Abdomen and Thigh

Step 4: Refer the table below and figure out how fat you are.

Man in the above example is 30 years old and has 20% body fat percentage so he has 'Average' body fat percentage as per table. If he undergoes a fat loss program, his body fat percentage needs to be monitored throughout the program to calculate his progress. It's absolutely worth buying a body fat calliper and figure out how fat you are whether you really need a fat loss program.

The Worry Tree by Butler & Hope 2007

Most of us are often trapped in the chain of worrisome thoughts that won't seem to break. we are happy to share 'the worry tree' model introduced by Butter and Hope in 2007. Butler & Hope defined worry as below: 'To worry means to think about problems that might happen in a way that leaves you feeling anxious or apprehensive. Worry is experienced as a chain of thoughts and images which can progress in increasingly  catastrophic and unlikely directions. It is often experienced as uncontrollable and seems to take on a life of its own.' Notice the worry :  Butler and hope suggested to stop for a while and notice the worry. Second step is to understand whether the worry is outcome of a current problem or it is an hypothetical situation Hypothetical Situation - are about things that do not currently exist, but which might happen in the future. Eg. What if I fail in exam,  My friend might not come today to help me Current Problem - are about actual prob...

The Crossroads Model

Today, I would like to share with an idea,  THE CROSSROADS MODEL SO WHAT NEXT? We all have times in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads, and ask  ourselves: where now? The crossroads model is inspired by The Personal Compass, developed by San Francisco consulting agency The Grove, and helps you to find your direction in life. Fill in the model on the basis of the following questions: WHERE HAVE YOU COME FROM? How have you become who you are? What have been the main decisions, events and obstacles in your life, and who were your main influences? Think about your education, your home, where you grew up. And make a note of keywords that strike you as important. WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO YOU? Write down the first three things that come into your head. You don’t have to go into detail or be specific. What are your values? What do you believe in? Which principles are important to you? When everything fails, what remains? WHICH PEOPLE ARE IMPORTANT ...
