Accidental Therapy

In the usual rush hour, the therapist parked. her car and charged upstairs to get ready for the first client of the day. Half an hour later therapist and patient were considering evidence for and against the belief that the patient was the only person in the world who ever did stupid things, everyone else being mega effective and efficient.
The patient would break off every now and then to question why they were wasting their time doing this when it was obviously true that she was indeed the most careless and stupid person ever to occupy a human body.
Just as the therapist began to despair, a loud crashing noise could be heard outside the window that had both therapist and patient out of their seats, peering down into the car park.

The therapist’s car had reversed at speed into the side of a brand new vehicle at the opposite side of the car park. In her rush, the therapist had left the hand brake off and her car had made good use of its freedom by rolling backwards down the slight incline, gathering momentum and achieving considerable speed before finally crashing into the other car.
Pausing for consideration, patient and therapist exchanged looks ‘You were saying?’
Thus, the accident accidentally turned out to be effective for the patient.

The Worry Tree by Butler & Hope 2007

Most of us are often trapped in the chain of worrisome thoughts that won't seem to break. we are happy to share 'the worry tree' model introduced by Butter and Hope in 2007. Butler & Hope defined worry as below: 'To worry means to think about problems that might happen in a way that leaves you feeling anxious or apprehensive. Worry is experienced as a chain of thoughts and images which can progress in increasingly  catastrophic and unlikely directions. It is often experienced as uncontrollable and seems to take on a life of its own.' Notice the worry :  Butler and hope suggested to stop for a while and notice the worry. Second step is to understand whether the worry is outcome of a current problem or it is an hypothetical situation Hypothetical Situation - are about things that do not currently exist, but which might happen in the future. Eg. What if I fail in exam,  My friend might not come today to help me Current Problem - are about actual prob...

The Crossroads Model

Today, I would like to share with an idea,  THE CROSSROADS MODEL SO WHAT NEXT? We all have times in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads, and ask  ourselves: where now? The crossroads model is inspired by The Personal Compass, developed by San Francisco consulting agency The Grove, and helps you to find your direction in life. Fill in the model on the basis of the following questions: WHERE HAVE YOU COME FROM? How have you become who you are? What have been the main decisions, events and obstacles in your life, and who were your main influences? Think about your education, your home, where you grew up. And make a note of keywords that strike you as important. WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO YOU? Write down the first three things that come into your head. You don’t have to go into detail or be specific. What are your values? What do you believe in? Which principles are important to you? When everything fails, what remains? WHICH PEOPLE ARE IMPORTANT ...
